Feminist? No, thank you

So folks keep telling me I need to be/must be/shouldn't be/can't be/ought to be a feminist. Frankly, I'm not fond of the word because of the baggage it carries. I find it incredible that the most vocal adherents of a philosophy that idolizes "choice" so much seek to revile and deny the choices others make when they don't tow the party line.

Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary. But please do not insult my intelligence by telling me that doesn't happen because it SO does. Thanks.

I am re-reading Brandon Sanderson's book, Words of Radiance, second book in the Stormlight Archive series, and I tripped over this quote once again. I think it more fully defines my position. You can call it feminist if you want to give it a label. I won't accept that label myself but you can call this snippet that if you want to. I really don't care. Frankly however, until all   women respect one another's choices, support them and treat one another gently without reviling and disrespecting one another, they can all go kick rocks as far as I am concerned.

"What is a woman's place in this modern world?" Jasna Kholin's words read. "I rebel against this question, though so many of my peers ask it. The inherent bias in the inquiry seems invisible to so many of them....I say that there is no role for women--there is, instead, a role for each woman, and she must make it for herself....Do not mistake me in assuming I value one woman's role above another.
