Manna Falling

Just want to be clear about what these miracles are to which I am becoming accustomed.
They are all manna.
These miracles are the ones that get you through the desert, not take you out of it.
For these miracles, you have to be in the desert.
As in the poem Footprints in the Sand, this manna from God is getting us through our struggles, not taking our struggles away.
Glory to God!
from Maria's blog

The house of Israel called it manna; it was like coriander seed, white, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
Exodus 16:31

Remember the long way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, in order to humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commandments. He humbled you by letting you hunger, then by feeding you with manna, with which neither you nor your ancestors were acquainted, in order to make you understand that one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. The clothes on your back did not wear out and your feet did not swell these forty years. Know then in your heart that as a parent disciplines a child so the Lord your God disciplines you. Therefore keep the commandments of the Lord your God, by walking in his ways and by fearing him.
Deuteronomy 8:2-5

These miracles are the ones that get you through the desert, not take you out of it. Yes definitely. Sometimes things come to you to get you through. A sweet, courteous voice on the phone when you expect rudeness. A telemarketer volunteering information that will provide assistance when they originally called to ask for money. A company agreeing to reduce the cost of something. Friends asking how they can help.

For some reason though, I seem to need to be in almost-but-not-quite dire straits to recognize when the manna drifts down.

I wish I would recognize it sooner. Thank you Father for the wonderful sweet manna that you send my way daily. Help me to see it for what it is and to gather it, and use it that day.

Lord have mercy on me a sinner.
